Thanks, that's pretty much what I thought from prior experiences -- but I
suppose I was hoping something had changed since the last time.
Oh well, storage folders &/or overnight downloads it is, then.
<sigh>
Maybe this time I really will do a better job of culling things (but I doubt
it....)

Importing previously saved/downloaded news messages to a newsgroup folder
is not available. Iirc, it wasn't available in OE or WM either. Nor should
news messages in the Storage folders be moved/copied to a newsgroup folder.
One can export and import previously downloaded and archived messages -
from and to the Storage folders. Note: Ensure the full message has been
downloaded prior to exporting.
One could also drag messages from a newsgroup to user created folder on the
desktop then drag those messages into a user created folder in WLM's
storage folder.

Is there a way to import messages from old computer other than
re-downloading (& re-sifting, ugh), so that they end up in the newsgroup
folders?
Or do I have the awful choice of export/import into storage folders vs. a
LOT of d/l & reviewing?
Thanks.
