I apologize if this has been discussed before, I looked, but did not se
anything that really explained this. One person asked how to do it, an
all I got out of responses was that it was impossible

So is it true that there is no way to completely uninstal Interne
Explorer? Because that seems pretty stupid to me

Thanks! Please let someone have an answer

If you're running Vista, you're stuck with IE7, sorry, as it is an
integral part of the OS. If you want a real OS that doesn't even
consider including IE7, check out Open Source. Either www.ubuntu.com or
www.pclinuxos.com are good choices. Not only will you not have to put up
with IE, you don't need an AV or anti malware programs and when there's
an update for *anything* on your computer, it all comes from one source
and that source informs you automatically so there's no need to check
Java here or check for Flash updates there.

Oh, and either OS is FREE!

Ignore Alias if you are happy with the rest of your Windows system. IE is an
integral part of the Win System, but you do not need to use it. There are
several very good free browsers for download on the Internet.

Firefox from www.mozilla.com
AceExplorer from www aceexplorer,com

Are two very easy to use examples.

The preceding was a paid announcement. The views expressed are solely
those of the Linux Marketing Department, and do not reflect the views of
the majority of rational people, and have no relevance to this news group.

It is a part of the operating system. Just don't use it.

You are not able to remove IE from any Windows OS. It is an integral part of the operating system . What you can do is to remove the shortcut for IE from your Desktop. Also you might want to remember that IE is needed to get your Updates from Widows Update.

He should pay attention if he's not happy with the rest of his system?

I already said that.

Trust me, if it was paid, there would be whole lot more. I do this out
of the goodness of my heart and don't get paid one euro cent.

Of course you can get rid of IE7... the only thing that is NOT possible is a
Vista that is not crap.

But there is a catch, you have to remove it from the vista disk image and
create a new one, then install from that new IE7-less disk

The tool to do this is called vlite from www.vlite.net

you can remove almost anything...including windows media player media
center, defenter and many other things that make vista the
horrible bloated monster it is.

HOWEVER>>>

Many programs require the IE technology since they use parts of IE to
function, and without it you would not be able to use those.

If you do not care about that... you can experiment with the above....

If you are a newbie I suggest you just ignore Ie7 and use firefox, maxthon
or avantbrowser.

The preceding bullshit from Mike was on behalf the Microsoft fanboy
club, a particularly dumb, always loud, often wrong, always up tight
bunch of losers that try to pretend they're computer "experts" and
know more than everybody when in fact they know next to nothing about
anything.
