Hi
I have developed a small issue with my HP iPaq 6365 PDA and it's ability to
ActiveSynch to our Exchange 2003 Server.
What happened is my battery ran totally flat and I lost them entire memory
of the PDA!
So I used the HP IPAQ restore function to restore a complete PDA backup from
5 days earlier.
This bought back all my apps and settings back perfectly.
However, since that restore, I cannot get my INBOX to synch direct with the
server. The CONTACTS and CALENDAR folders sync direct with the server ok, it
is only a problem with the INBOX.
The INBOX will synch via the "Windows PC" perfectly but whenever I configure
ActiveSync (3.7.1) to sync the Inbox via the Exchange Server it reports an
error on the PDA as "Sync error - A critical error has occurred and sync
failed. The next time you sync, you will be prompted to overwrite the data
on your device with data from the server. You will lose only the changes
made since your last successful sync".
After pressing OK on the PDA the Activesynch in the PDA logs the following
error code "SYNC_22". (also, several times during my testing it logged error
code SYNC_3 at this point in time if that helps!)
Also, when I detach the PDA from ActiveSnc on my PC, and then open Active
options on the PDA and try to select the INBOX in the "Sync these items:"
section it reports in a popup "Configuration Failure - Unable to preserve
the data on the device. It will be replaced during the next sync." followed
by another popup that states "Unable to remove old data from the device.
Please wait a minute and try again".
Needless to say I have waited more than a minute and performed reboots etc.
It seems like the Inbox on the PDA is corrupt and it won't overwrite from
the server.
Any clues or suggestions is greatly appreciated as I don't really want to
wipe the device and start again !
Thanks
Stu
