incomplete scan and website problem?

I have Windows XP home, auto update does not activivate, also attempts to
download via update center. I get " website encountered and connot display
the page you are trying to view. I have received these error codes at
different times

0x80240017
0x80004005
0x800704dd

Phil i am getting the same error in windows 2000 pro code is 0xC80001FF
