Tried installing SP2 from CD. Installation process hung up halfway through
and then began rolling back and shut down. On reboot received a message
" Stop: c0000135 winsrv was not found. There was no T.V. Media files on the
computer to cause this so don't need CU 885523. Managed to recover system but
now get warnings that it is in a unstable state. LSASS says I am running
Version 5.1 2600 1106 XPSP1. 020828.1920 while WINVER says I am running
this : Version 5.1.Build 2600 xpsp2.050301-1526: Service Pack 1. I do not
have Windows XP Hotfix- KB834707 showing up on the ADD and REMOVE Programs
but I do have Windows XP SP2 showing there. At this point I have no idea if I
have SP2 fully installed on not. I tried using ADD and REMOVE PROGRAMS On the
SP2 installation but the warnings about other programs not working right
after SP2 removal scared me off. Hope this enough info for this problem.
