inconsistancies between msn & live messenger

I have just migrated from msn 7.5 to Live 8.0 and have noticed a number of
inconsistancies.

Firstly my non-assisnged contacts would float at the top of my lists with
7.5 which I liked as it made them high visability, now they are burried at
the bottom of the list off screen.

I was previously able to use the contacts display image for there online
indicator as apposed to the generic green upper body, this function now seems
to be missing.

Add a contact is now a perminent on screen feature inspite of the fact that
I don't want to be adding anyone thus wasting desktop real estate.

All I want to see is, my status, my contacts status and if they are online I
want it to show me there current display pic as the indicator. How many
emails I have is nice too but to edit something or initiate something I'm
happy to go though menus as having the buttons up all the time is a waste of
space.

While I don't expect to get exactly what I want as I'm sure you are very
fond of your advertisement at the foot of the window, please let me know when
these inconsistances are going to be addressed or should I just roll back to
7.5?

Regards
Ant

Do a google search for A-Patch.

While I am sure its not supported, it will allow you to customise the
interface [IE remove buttons/ads], activate polygamy, and some other
features.

I hate the green interface myself - And I was able to edit the resources for
the icon in the tray - but not within the contact list as I didn't find the
DLL file responsible before my computer had a hardware failure - and I went
to gaim after that.

Hi,

I'm afraid they're all by design, so don't expect them to be addressed.

Like Caledai already said, the various patches around (Mess Patch, A-Patch) will let you
alter Messenger and most of the this functionality can be restored.
