Hey.
On the eve of accepting a new television package from our ISP that
apparently used wireless to function, we decided to go ahead and set up our
computers without the hassle of wirers. The laptops had built in wireless
cards and work perfectly with the install disk from our ISP.
But the stationary, new and hefty priced gaming machine did not have
wireless so i purchased a Netgear wn121t usb adapter to try and get as much
juice as i could. The software and hardware installed perfectly on Vista
Ultimate 64bit and the card found the connection, but i has a limited
connection to the net.
I have changed the settings in te registry to enable vista to connect to a
non-microsoft access point. I have rebooted the computer, rebooted the modem
and reset the modem. Nothing seems to be working. The mosttroubling issue is
that when i try to diagnose the connection and check the security settings it
tells me an error occured cause the parameters are incorrect. Is it as simple
as to reinstall the cards drivers and software or is there a deeper problem
with vista? I really want to avoid setting up a router. Networking is not my
strong suite.
