increasing thumbnail size in taskbar

How can you increase the thumbnail size in the taskbar?

I downloaded a third party software AveThumbnailSizer, but it says install
at your own risk. Since this will be doing things to Windows, I hesitated.
I was wondering if the Microsoft guys can come up with a similar program
which I feel is very handy. It would be nice to be able to read the
thumbnails if the size can be adjusted. It's so small, you know it's there
but hardly any use for it.
