Indexing blocked in one folder?

I index my entire "Documents" folder tree; I've double-checked that.
However, there's one subfolder in it that while also indexed will not yield
any hit results when I do a search from within that folder. I can search for
an item located in that folder via, say, the Start menu, or Explorer's
search field in any other folder, but if I'm viewing this one folder, the
search never finds anything I'm looking for. This is the only folder I've
found that acts this way.

Yet it didn't start doing this until recently; before then, I'd searched in
that folder many dozens of times. And again, if I start the search anywhere
else, the items are found instantly.

How could this happen and what can I do?

Hi Milhouse,

Did you try to Rebuild the index to see if it would help? This
tutorial will show you how if needed. Just scroll down to the section.

I haven't, but I want to wait a bit before doing it in case some other
suggestions come along.

This isn't a case where a folder is missing from the index -- it's all
there. It's just not finding anything from the folder when searching from
the folder.

Milhouse,

It will not hurt anything to rebuild the index. It just lets the index
dump the old information and rebuild itself quicker. Think of it as a
Update button. Sometimes the index just has not caught up with any
recent changes made since it only runs slowly in the background, quicker
if the computer is left idle for a while. If the index got corrupted,
then rebuilding it will correct it since it dumps the old data.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
