Indexing Options will not stop loading Outlook 2007

I have been trying to work with Indexing Options, to fine tune what is
indexed on my system.

I have 4 partitions for different functions. So, indexing is pretty
important.

However, I have been unable to keep Outlook 2007 from automatically loading
and being indexed. I have removed it from the Indexing Options about 4 times
now and it keeps getting added back in.

I get some rather large emails and when Outlook is removed from Indexing the
emails open with no problem. But, when Outlook automatically loads back in
to the Index Options my emails are very slow to load.

Isn't there a way to stop Outlook from automatically loading itself to the
Indexing Options?

Thanks

try disabling it from within outlook>

here is how

Tools>Instant search>search options

then uncheck the 2 boxes you will see in this screenshot>>>

Remove the indexing option from the Outlook.pst file properties under the
"advanced" button. Does that work?

When I looked, the Personal Folder was already unchecked.

I did a compromise in the Index Options. I left Outlook loaded and
unchecked the Personal Folders and Business Contact Manager boxes.

Even with Outlook loaded, in Index Options, it doesn't automatically index
my emails when I open them now.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks.

I ended up just leaving Outlook loaded in Index Options and unchecked the
Personal Folders and Business Contact Manager boxes.

That appears to work. I guess the required indexing of all of Outlook is
just something someone decided was necessary. Whether we wanted it or not.
Maybe it has something to do with me having the Business Contact Manager
loaded.
