Indexing -- Strange Error Code

Hi all - thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.

My index location fields are blank (in control panel --> Indexing
Options). When I click on "SELECT NEW," I get a pop-up that says
"Policy is in effect; Modifying index location is disabled by a policy."

Now I am sure not aware that I changed any policy on this, and my
indexing is getting screwed up. Any ideas on what is causing this, and
more specifically, how I can undo it so I can change the location of my
index and rebuild?

Hello mrgr8avill,

Have you tried doing a System Restore to a point in time before you started
experiencing this problem?


Use System Restore and undo changes if problems occur- Has your system
become unstable and is behaving weird because of that last application you
installed? Wish you could restore your computer prior to that installation?
Your wish just came true.
