I've been attempting to create multiple user profiles in Vista for my laptop.
I would like one user to be the default with the second user having different
settings for when i connect to my LCD tv and stereo. I need the display dpi,
resolution, icon size and sound output all to be different then the settings
used in the default mode. Is this possible, and if so, how? I just would like
and easy way to go from the normal mode to connecting to the TV and stereo
without spending 20 minutes reconfiguring the PC.

Thanks

Hardware profiles are not available in Windows Vista.

Welcome to half-baked Vista. I am getting XP Pro on my new Thinkpad X61 or
T61p.

If you have a Thinkpad, you could use Presentation Director to change the
display profile quickly, but if you haven't UltraMon profiles can be used.
This will not give you everything that you want, but it is the best thing I
can think of.

www.ultramon.com

Not sure what you can do to change your sound settings quickly, but what
exactly do you need to change? Just plugging in my laptop to my hi-fi works
fine for me.

ss.

Thanks for the response, I will try Ultramon. As far as the sound is
concerned, yes that really isnt a problem. I have an external USB sound card.

thanks again
