I get this error when accessing update. I found out my firewall is causing
the problem, but I don't know how to correct it, other than turning off my
firewall while I update windows. Does anyone has any other suggestions on how
I might fix this. I've tryed it Microsoft's way, but that didn't work. I'm
using Zone Alarm Security Suite v6.1.744.000, and I've never had this problem
before, ever! Thanks in advance for any help given.

Could you please tell us what " Microsoft's way " is ? This isn't the
first time that Zone Alarm has caused issues with the Windows Update
site, BTW. Have you allowed wuauclt.exe full access in Zone Alarm's
Allowed list ?

I'll try it.

I haven't used Zone Alarm in quite some time. A quick check of their forum :
http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/s...e&q=0x800A1391

turned up this for the 0x800A1391 error message :

My current ISP offers a free eTrust security suite for being a Road Runner
customer, so I just switched over to that, and now my problem is solved!
Thanks for all the help.

You're welcome. Please be aware that the firewall included in eTrust's
Security Suite is actually ... Zone Alarm.

I know, and it's not causing the same problem! Crazy, huh? Thanks again.
