Input focus lost at logon screen

Whenever I start the computer and the logon screen loads, the cursor in the
password text box loses focus after a few seconds. I then have to either
click in the box manually or alt-tab between two 'Windows Logon' icons.

I am using Vista Ultimate with SP1 freshly installed over the RTM with all
current patches applied afterwards.

There is only one active account on this PC with Administrator and Guest
both disabled.

Same problem here. It seems to happen every time the computer is resumed
from sleep. Sometimes I'll even get about 3 characters of my password
typed in and then it loses focus.

I don't recall having this issue until after SP1.

Same problem here (as of 2008, Sept. 26)-- my system is Vista Ultimate
32-bit w/SP1, upgraded from XP Pro.

When I Alt-Tab at the logon screen, the task display toggles between
two "Windows Logon" icons, and my password cursor only gets focus with
one of them.

Any ideas about what could cause this? The only other problem I've
observed with the system is that wake-on-lan (WOL) doesn't work from
sleep-- only from off (strangely), but this may be unrelated.

System:
XFX 680i LT SLI motherboard, tried updating latest nForce drivers
(15.23) and BIOS (P08A)
eVGA GeForce 9600 GT, tried updating drivers (to 178.13)
4GB RAM, WD 640GB hard drive.
