I couldn't find any reference to this problem by searching the group so I'm
sorry if it's been addressed before . . .

I downloaded an update and installed it (it happens to be Microsoft .NET
Framework version 1.1, if that makes any difference). The next time I
checked for updates, the same one was there waiting for me. When I tried to
download it again, it just wanted to be installed so I did that. Now this
happens every time I check for updates.

Does anyone know how to make the update people understand that I don't need
that one any more?

I looked at it and printed it out to go over it in depth later. Looks like
it should do the trick. Many thanx.

I've tried just about everything but the first one you mention looks a
little different. I'll give it a try. And, many thanx for your trouble.
