install a failed installation attempt

While going through my update history I noticed that ms.net framework 1.1
service pack 1 failed to install. How do I attempt to install it again?

I had the same problem. I tried following the Repair suggestions for .nt
framework 1.1 from Microsoft website and the repair was not successful. How
can this update be installed again?

Hate to join a chorus line, but I've got the same problem. The download was
done automatically and I can neither get rid of it nor fix it. The error
message after selecting the icon in installation history is 0XE0434F40.

Anyone found a fix?
