install failed on .net 2.0

I habe a repeated fail when installing .net 2.0 update - I have tried using
the install clean up program and the download install program. Bothe
repeatedly fail - op sys xp service pack 3 - after failing the update tries
to install .net service pack 1.1 - any idea on how to get .net 2 which I need
for sql

Try using this and uninstall all versions of .NET

Then manually download and install .NET fnx 2.0 from Microsoft downloads

www.microsoft.com\downloads

Then run a manual Windows express update that will automatically install the
update service pack for .NET installed

The .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 installation fails on a computer that has the
..NET Framework 2.0 installed...
[download the Correction Tool cited in Workaround section, log on as Admin &
install]
