Try what I did this month - I burnt each update directly from its own site
after searching for the KB number, onto disk, but one at a time.
Then installed one at a time and rebooted.
I did not use WU at all.
In the long run I think this was quicker than getting the hang-ups etc that
others were experiencing.
Good luck
Dont take too long - the next Black Tuesday will be upon us :-) :-)
Rgds

You do not have to crete a CD if they have already been downloaded (even if
they failed on installation).
All downloads are kept in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download.

Each update is in it's own folder (a unique long number), with a sub folder
called update. In that folder is an update.exe. Just run update.exe.

As far as the failed installs, did you check the Event Viewer log, and/or
the KB*.log file in the C:\Windows folder.

The KB*.log file contains information on the installation, including the
error code of why it failed.
