Hello Shani,

1.- Use the belt-and-suspenders mode. Make a Restore Pºint.

2.- Please confirm your system clock, and Time Zone also the Date are set
properly.
Having it set incorrectly can cause this type of behaviºr.

3.- Test this WGA diagnose test, connection to MS, that scripts working.
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag/

4.- Reboot into safe mºde

Suggest cleaning up the system (clearing out all the Temp/Tmp folders, and
included all offline content, clearing the browser TIF, Delete Cookies , do a
Disk CleanUp.

Click the Start button . In the Search box, type Disk Cleanup, and then, in
the list of results, click Disk Cleanup.

Empty user and system "temp" folders.

Go to Start > Run > copy and paste the below into the Open: line

%systemdrive%\temp

%systemdrive%\%windir%\temp

%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temp

There is also a third-party fix which has had good results for a number of
folks here:

Dial-ª--Fix
http://wiki.djlizard.net/Dial-a-fix

Run this program with all the functions activated in safe mºde.

Please read the page and Scroll down about 2/3 of the way to Download
Dial-ª-fix

Exit Safe Mode (Rebººt)

Try the updates n0w

You didn't say, or at least it's not clear, whether you tried getting the
updates using Internet Explorer, by going here:

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

Some new ActiveX software has to be installed on XP before your computer can
be scanned.

Just follow the prompts to do so, but it should then list and download the
same updates, and install them, as those you see in the taskbar notificatiºn.

If going to the site is successful, keep going back until there are no more
critical updates to install.

I hope this post is helpful.

Let us know how it works ºut

Hi TaurArian,"

I did exactly as you wrote; however, after I launched the "Microsoft.Net
Framework 2.0 Setup" program, during the installation, I received the
following ERROR message:

"Error 25015 Failed To Install Assembly
'C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Sys temEnterpriseServices.dll'
because the system cannot find the path specified."

Every remedy is failing me, and my frustration is at its peak. Perhaps I
should inform you that it seems this problem began the other day, when out of
sheer disgust I UNinstalled IE7, and relied on my older version of IE.
Although, what once had worked flawlessly, was no longer displaying web pages
properly, so I REinstalled IE7.

Needless to say, I not only now have the original problem with IE7, which is
EXTREMELY slow web page(s) loading, animations, graphics, etc., displays are
not working properly, and again, no matter which remedy I try, they all seem
to fail.

I've been tweaking Active X Controls, Security Features, Add-Ons, Pop-Up
Blocker, Advanced IE options, etc., for days now to little or no avail. It
seems when I resolve one problem, another problem rears its ugly head.

This ".Net Framework" problem is merely the icing on the cake.

Can you offer me any alternative/additional troubleshooting advice?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Shani S.

Wow, this is getting worse by the moment. I just typed an entire reply, but
it did not go through because my login timed-out.

I'm about ready to throw in the towel.

Okay, let me try this one more time.......

Hi TaurArian,

I did exactly what you wrote; however, after launching the Microsoft.Net
Framework 2.0 Setup program, during installation, it suddenly stopped, and
the following ERROR Message Box popped-up:

"Error 25015 Failed To Install Assembly
'C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.507271\Sy stemEnterpriseServices.dll'
because of system error. The system cannot find the path specified."

I do not know what to do. Nothing seems to be remedying this problem.
Perhaps I should inform you that this ".NET Update Problem" began the other
day when out of sheer disgust, I UNinstalled IE7, and went back to my earlier
version of IE. However, what once worked flawlessly, no longer did, so I
REinstalled IE7.

Nevertheless, it appears that I now have multiple problems. My web browser
is still slow as a turtle; the animations and graphics are not displaying
correctly, this "Information Bar" is getting on my last nerve because I
cannot get rid of it no matter what Microsoft instructions I follow, I get
error message, scripting errors, pop-up notices, my Zone Alarm and Norton
Antivirus are wigging out and I'm about ready ot throw myself out a window.

I recently upgraded my system to XP SP2, along with my RAM, and everything
was working fine until suddenly my web browser stopped working correctly. The
most annoying problem is the SLOW LOADING of web pages, and I have the
fastest connection possible...A Cable Modem.

Prior to this .NET Framework annoyance, I had been tweaking IE for DAYS now.
You name it and I've tweaked it......Security Settings, Pop-Up Blocker,
Managing Add-Ons, Disabling Add-Ons, Turning off/On the Phishing Filter, and
this damn "Information Bar has hit my LAST nerve. No matter what instructions
I follow to get RID OF IT, it's like a bad dream, it just won't go away.

This .NET Framework problem is merely the icing on my cake; but I'm
exhausted with this entire situation. And the irony is that I thought I was
pretty computer saavy by now. LOL

Anyway, I apologize for the diatribe, I'm just venting.....

Any and/or all alternative troubleshotting suggestions would be most greatly
appreciated.

Sincerely,
Shani S.

Thank you.

I started a report, as you suggested.

I will post the final outcome; hopefully, when it is resolved.
