Wow, this is getting worse by the moment. I just typed an entire reply, but
it did not go through because my login timed-out.
I'm about ready to throw in the towel.
Okay, let me try this one more time.......
Hi TaurArian,
I did exactly what you wrote; however, after launching the Microsoft.Net
Framework 2.0 Setup program, during installation, it suddenly stopped, and
the following ERROR Message Box popped-up:
"Error 25015 Failed To Install Assembly
'C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.507271\Sy stemEnterpriseServices.dll'
because of system error. The system cannot find the path specified."
I do not know what to do. Nothing seems to be remedying this problem.
Perhaps I should inform you that this ".NET Update Problem" began the other
day when out of sheer disgust, I UNinstalled IE7, and went back to my earlier
version of IE. However, what once worked flawlessly, no longer did, so I
REinstalled IE7.
Nevertheless, it appears that I now have multiple problems. My web browser
is still slow as a turtle; the animations and graphics are not displaying
correctly, this "Information Bar" is getting on my last nerve because I
cannot get rid of it no matter what Microsoft instructions I follow, I get
error message, scripting errors, pop-up notices, my Zone Alarm and Norton
Antivirus are wigging out and I'm about ready ot throw myself out a window.
I recently upgraded my system to XP SP2, along with my RAM, and everything
was working fine until suddenly my web browser stopped working correctly. The
most annoying problem is the SLOW LOADING of web pages, and I have the
fastest connection possible...A Cable Modem.
Prior to this .NET Framework annoyance, I had been tweaking IE for DAYS now.
You name it and I've tweaked it......Security Settings, Pop-Up Blocker,
Managing Add-Ons, Disabling Add-Ons, Turning off/On the Phishing Filter, and
this damn "Information Bar has hit my LAST nerve. No matter what instructions
I follow to get RID OF IT, it's like a bad dream, it just won't go away.
This .NET Framework problem is merely the icing on my cake; but I'm
exhausted with this entire situation. And the irony is that I thought I was
pretty computer saavy by now. LOL
Anyway, I apologize for the diatribe, I'm just venting.....
Any and/or all alternative troubleshotting suggestions would be most greatly
appreciated.
Sincerely,
Shani S.
