Okay, this is probably going to sound stupid but I have to ask.

I was given Vista Ultimate a few weeks ago but my wife's Laptop can only
handle Home according to the assessment, is there anyway I can set it to
install a chopped version of Ultimate or the Home version without having to
buy a new key?

Thanks in advance

Henry

Please don't cross post. You could boost your memory and do assessmen
again. Otherwise, forget upgrading

No. The key you type in determines what gets installed.

You might be able to install Ultimate and then remove the features not
well-supported after the installation. It depends on what is causing the
assessment not to recommend Ultimate.

The alternative is the obvious: Upgrade the laptop to remedy the deficiency.

Without knowing more details, there is noting more I can add. Good luck

Henry - install Vista Ultimate and enjoy. The main goal of the assessment
is to evaluate compatibility of installed devices and programs.
