McAfee security apparantly removed my MS authentacation upon install. Now I
receive an error message saying my MS lincense is not legitmate. Its been
legitmate for 3 years.
I have reinstalled my original license# with Toshiba, I have downloaded the
MS active X license verification .exe file and its says my license is valid
but when I wish to check for updates ERROR.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Please download the MGADiag diagnsotic tool from
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012
then run it, click "Copy to clipboard", then paste the clipboard into a
followup in this thread. Do this before the suggestions below.

Other things you can try after that:

You can download the latest WGA Notification update from:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=69498
and then install it manually, and restart Windows. Report back if the
manual installation gives any error messages. Check whether your problem is
fixed.

If you still have problems, go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag/
and follow the instructions. When the diagnostic completes, click "Validate
Windows" and report back what happens.

You have mis-matched file versions in the WGA system. This download should
fix it:

You have some weird self-proxying going on. You should check out what that
is, as it might not work with Windows Update. Is it some form of download
accelerator (Onspeed?), or anti-malware doing this? You might have to
disable Onspeed to get Windows Update working.

Well, it could be a false positive (fault on the alarm light circuit). But
if either the water or oil levels are going downward, then you need to check
out the gaskets.
