Install Older Version of A Program

I went to programs to delete a trial copy of acronis 9. The deletion went
thru. Tried to load an older version. Would not install because newer
program is loaded. How do I delete the newer program?

When you say 'delete' it doesn't sound like you uninstalled. If you di
run the uninstaller from Programs & Features and it still left crap o
your system I'd search and see if there's a such a thing as an "acroni
removal tool". Some of these programs like Norton av stuff the
uninstallers don't really remove all the stuff. You have to go to thei
site and get a removal tool

There are installer monitors that watch what changes an installe
program makes and then attempts to back all that off when you uninstall
But they have their own issues too. Some back off more stuff than yo
want.. like new registry settings etc.

When Acronis uninstalls you are usually asked if you want to keep the
product code number in case you wish to install acronis again at a later
date. Did you say No to this request? Also it sounds as if there are a few
registry entries relating to that version of Acronis still hanging around.

I'm not saying that this will work but you have nothing to loose. Reinstall
Acronis 9. Now visit this website
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_..._download.html and
download the free copy of revo uninstaller (it is completely free). Install
this and then run it. Once revo opens locate Acronis from the list of
programs visible in revo and uninstall it from within revo. Revo uninstalls
the main application and then searches for any files or regisrty entries
that Acronis has missed and allows you to delete them. I've used Revo
extensively and have found it to be very useful, especially when an
application refuses to uninstall all its files.

Thanks to all who responded to my inquiry. John Barnett's suggestion of
using Revo Uninstaller did the trick. I now have my older version of
Acronis True Image working.
