Install problems

Ever since I got a virus and malware, my Updates won't install, though it
says they do. All malware and viruses have been fixed, but updates keep
"installing" every time I shut off, but they are the same ones. Or are stuck
at this one:
Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2
(KB936181) This has been happening since April, 2008. I think I have a
missing dll file, as that message kept coming up.
I have SP 2.

(KB936181) may repeatedly appear in the update list on Microsoft
Update or on Windows Update:
