I'm hoping to install Windows Server 2008 R2 on my new Dell Inspiron i545 ,
which shipped with Windows Vista Home Premium SP1.

1. What issues could I run into ? I'm assuming that as long as I can find
Server 20008 drivers for all hardware, I should be able to do it.

2. I've downloaded Server 2008 from my MDSN subscription. Need I create an
install DVD, or is it possible to install Server 2008 from inside Vista ?

Thanks.

Hello John A Grandy" johnagrandy-at-gmail-dot-com,

You need an installation disk, burn the image to disk for example with:
http://infrarecorder.org/

Install it and choose Actions, burn image and point to the file location.

Ok, I've burned a DVD disc with the following .iso :

en_windows_server_2008_r2_standard_enterprise_data center_web_retail_x64_dvd_x15-50365.iso

Do I now boot off this DVD ?

What is the best way to install Server 2008 ?

Hello John A Grandy" johnagrandy-at-gmail-dot-com,

So you have a disc with a folder/file structure and not the .iso file on
the disc? Then insert the disc in the computer and choose booot from disc.
