Hi

Is it possible to install VHP x64 from an eSATA drive like you woul
use a USB Flash drive to install Vista from? I have looked far and wid
and I have found people looking to install and run Vista FROM an eSAT
drive but have found no info on actually performing the install from a
eSATA drive....

I have an unattended vista install on a USB drive setup and ca
successfully install it from the usb drive but being able to the instal
from a eSATA drive would be exponently faster, as I tend to re-instal
every couple of months.

I have a jmicron 36x controller and have slipstreamed the drivers int
the boot.wim and I can boot from the eSATA drive but it still won'
finish booting to the install screens. It hangs on the 2nd load scree
(not the greyscale screen but the color boot screen)

Has anyone else attempted this or at least have any ideas

If you reinstall every 2 months, why don't you set your System up the way you
want it, then use Acronis True Image?

Exactly! Some people make it so hard on themselves.

I have been using imaging software since 1993 and have never reinstalled an
operating system - unless I "want" to.

Install the O/S. Install the software you want, configure the O/S and
software to your liking, download the requisite updates, activate the O/S
and any other programs that need the same - then image the damn thing.

After 2 months (or 2 years) it will only take 15-20 minutes to get back to
the exact same state you were in when the image was created!

Get smart people and do it the easy way.
