Installation Error Code 80200053

Hi, I've gotten Error Code 80200053 when I tried to install Definition Update
for Windows Defender - KB915597 (Definition 1.24.5399.0). It doesn't come up
in the list when I click on the 'get help' button. Any ideas?

sorry i have not found a solution yet altho i have same problem so im workin
on it,

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is a general error code that indicates
incompatibility or the need for further updates before the specified update
can be installed.

0x80200053 BG_E_VALIDATION_FAILED
The application requested data from a web site, but the response was
invalid. Using Event Viewer, check the log 'Application Logs \ Microsoft
\ Windows \ Bits-client \ Operational' for more details.

The issue *may* be related to the latest release of the Windows Update
Agent.
Was the system restarted after it was installed ?

I used to install updates from a user account, and sometimes got thi
error code too. This problem was solved when I used my admin account fo
the purpose. Perhaps for you too
