Installation Errors For Live Mail

Hello,
I've recently been trying to download and install Windows Live Mail. That
part was easy, however, upon opening the program, I receive error messages.
The first one says, "Sorry, something unexpected happened and Windows Live
Mail must close, your most recent changes may not be saved."
Then another error box is displayed stating, "Contacts failed to load.
Windows Live Mail is incorrectly configured, please re-install."
I've uninstalled and reinstalled this program several times, but still not
sure why I am receiving these errors.
The only thing I can think of that I have different that I ran a clean
install on my computer and I am now running Windows XP professional sp.3 and
Internet Explorer 8. Is there some other program I need to have running for
this program to be configured accurately?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, innerchildbeaming.

> I did do this

You did do WHAT? Whenever anybody says this, we are skeptical because we
have heard it so many times before - and it usually is not accurate. Please
tell us, in your own words, step by step, what YOU DID, not what you might
have read in Peter's post. If you tell us the exact steps YOU took, we may
be able to spot where you stepped off the path.

> and was still unsuccessful.

This doesn't tell us anything useful, either. HOW was it unsuccessful? Was
there an error message? At what point? What did the error message say -
VERBATIM? No paraphrasing, please! If possible, take a screenshot and post
the whole message.

Sorry to be so strident, but you've been trying for 2 days now to fix
something that isn't broken for most users. We need to find the needle in
your haystack that is different from everybody else's needle. And we can't
find that needle with statements like "tried it" and "didn't work". We
can't help you unless you tell us WHAT you did and WHAT results you saw.

Nobody pays us to do this, you know. We do it because we want to help. But
you have to do your part, too.

Hello R.C.
When I say 'I did this' I followed EXACTLY to the 't' everything the last
poster told me to do. STEP BY STEP per his instructions. If you'd really like
to know exactly what I did, I could just copy and paste what the last posted
indicated for me to do, but I just assumed that you were intelligent enough
to read his posts, along with his solutions, before you spewed at me, unless
of course his answered posts are hidden from your view? If so, I can
understand then, your rudeness.
For your information, I was NOT paraphrasing the error message, that WAS
VERBATIM and the EXACT words of the error message!
Contrary to your belief, I am quite experienced when it comes to solving
problems with programs and yes, I CAN follow other people's directions.
Insinuating that I am the only one in here with Windows Mail problems is
quite the falsehoood. There are at least EIGHT pages alone with contact
problems and error messages.
Your intentions were never to help me or anyone for that matter so please
go hassle someone else.
You needn't reply, because I will be seeking help in another forum. They
don't get paid either, but they treat others with quite more respect!

There are times when provided solutions don't work for a variety of known and unknown reasons.

What's unclear at this stage, after attempting the earlier proposed solution, is whether or not you are seeing the exact same error
message(s) as before, new ones, not seeing all of the same.

Lacking anything beyond the follow-up "it was still successful" it may be best to contact WLM support.

WLM Support
1. http://help.live.com/help.aspx?proje...3&market=en-us
2. Click on the first item in the left hand pane FAQ List(e.g.'How do I install and run WLM for the first time') then allow that
item to load in the right hand pane
3. Look in the lower right, click on 'Get more Help', allow that page to load
4. Click on 'Get Support', the e-form will load.

Fill out the form...and good luck

Interesting that the most verbiage we could get from you was
a defense about how little information you were willing to provide
and collaborate with us.

Good luck diagnosing your problem symptoms.
