Installation Failed

Updates have continually failed to install everytime they try to install
themselves or when I try to install them. The Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
Service Pack 1 was the first one to fail, but I didn't realize it, on Dec. 1,
2005. Then almost everyday after that the Security Update for Microsoft .NET
Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 (KB886903) has failed. It has
downloaded but fails when it tries to install. Any help would be
appreciated. My computer also hangs up whenever I try to shut down, I am not
sure if that might be related. I am using Windows XP Professional Service
Pack 2.

I am having the exact same problems; anxious to see what the solution is
myself.

I also have the exact same problem, although it's been going on for months
and I didn't realize it. I would really love to see a solution posted here.
