Hello All

We are facing a strange problem wherein we are unable to install our
application in Windows Vista Ultimate OS.
Our application has majority of .NET 2.0 components and some COM
components developed in VB6. The application is packaged to a MSI
using Install Shield 7 (pretty old compared to current version in the
market.. but nonetheless it was doing its assigned job of creating a
setup package) with all the necessary dlls, merge modules and framework
setups packaged in it.

We were able to run our application in Windows 2000,XP Pro and Home
edition Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista Professsional and Home...
But our installation fails when we use Windows Vista Ultimate as the
OS.

The error pops up while installshield setup is running saying "Feature
Transfer error"

The log is of more generic type Error 1603... which is nothing but
failed installtion (...which i know looking at the way my application
crashes... )

Can anyone out there tell us are we missing anything to set (...ex
Tongue Tiedome variables in the registry concerned to Windows Vista
Ultimate).This is really urgent ...

Any help is greatly appreciated

Regards
Srivatsa

Hi,

You'll probably have a better chance of a useful reponse with either a dev
group supporting the programming language you are using, or consulting the
SDK for Vista. This group deals more with problems user encounter with the
OS itself at the user level.
