Installation Failure Error Code: 0xD00E4104

Running Windows XP, just reformatted computer and reinstalled Windows, just
trying to get all the updates, i.e. SP2, but can't get any updates because of
this one update failing to install.

Update for Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) 2.0 and WinHTTP
5.1 (KB842773)

Returns above failure, try to download manually get File extract corrupt

Tried everything fould in post:

The only thing in the windowsupdate log is:
2009-08-08 10:45:21 Success IUCTL Starting
2009-08-08 10:45:22 Success IUCTL Shutting down

I reformatting my computer and reinstalled windows xp 3 times now, and
still can't get this stupid update to install. How can I get the service
packs without this update

NB: After such a clean install, you'll have the equivalent of a "new
computer" so take care of everything on the following page before otherwise
