Installation Failure with Error Code:643

I've been getting this failure message for several months now when trying to
install the .NET Framework Service Pack 1. I looked at all the posts here
and finally I contacted Microsoft - and got back some suggestions, but noe of
them worked. Subsequent e-mails to Microsoft have gone unanswered. I just
hope the service pack does not have anything critical in it. I can only hope
a "Service Pack 2" will come out soon and incorporate service pack 1 (and be
"installable").
