Unresolved issue continues after six sessions with online support from PC
vendor (hp) as well as several fruitless results from Microsoft Online
Support. Is there any fix to this problem, short of starting over from
scratch? This issue also prevents installation of Windows Media Player 11!
Mac is looking pretty good lately...

Have you tried a clean Start?

Start > Run > Type in msconfig Click OK
Click Services . Check Hide All Microsoft Services. Click Disable All.
Click Startup. Click Disable All. Click Apply. Click Close. and Click
Restart.

On reboot, click Start > Run > Type in msconfig and click OK. Dot Normal
Startup. Click Apply then click Close. Click Exit without Restart. Now go to
Windows Update and install all your Hotfixes and Updates. When done, reboot.

Is 900325 failing to install when offered by Automatic Updates or are you
trying to install it manually?

When did you purchase the machine?

How to troubleshoot Windows Update, Microsoft Update, and Windows Server
Update Services installation issues:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=906602

1. See the "Need more help? Tell us what problem you are having" section of
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=ph;en-us;6527

2. You cannot install some updates or programs
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;822798

3a. Check Windowsupdate.log (%windir%\Windowsupdate.log) for errors
associated with the download/install.

How to read the Windowsupdate.log file:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=902093

3b. Compare errors to those listed here:
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/archive...date_codes.htm and/or go to
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com > click on Help and Support link in left
pane > Solve problems on your own.
