Automatic Updates attempted to install SP2 twice. The first attempt was
cancelled by the user. This line in the installation history indicates
Cancelled as expected.
Several days later Automatic Updates attempted to install SP2 again via a
dial-up connection but locked up at around 80% during cleanup phase.
Rebooted 2 times and got Windows to come up OK - apparently with SP2
installed.
Add/Remove programs lists SP2, System Properties shows SP2 and computer
acting normally. HOWEVER, installation history shows that SP2 failed with no
entry later entry indicating successful. A subsequent update .NET framework
1.0 SP3 (Eng vers) shows failed also (related?)
Question #1: How can I be certain SP2 is installed and functioning properly?
Question #2: Can the installation history be corrected if SP2 is OK?
It was installed via AU version 5 (I read that the history is saved in an
..edb format)
Relevant details -- running ZoneAlarm, Security Center is off, running
