Installed program in start menu re-appears after deletion and reboot??

I installed Cyberlink PowerDVD and instead of putting all its files in a
nice directory like most applications it just puts all its files in the
root of the start menu. (Hate that)

Usually this is not a problem as I just create a folder in the start
menu and then put the files in that folder. The problem is, is that
PowerDVD (or vista) will put the files back in the root of the start
menu after I reboot, everytime. This is quite annoying and I cant
figure out why its doing that.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Is this program version compatible with Vista?
Vista does everything it can to keep files out of the root directory.
I would uninstall the program, and reinstall, paying attention to where it
offers to install.

I don't have that problem. Are you Installing from the org CD media ? If so,
Contact cyberlink as there is a problem.

I have used PowerDVD for years. It always installs to C:\Program
Files\Cyberlink\PowerDVD.

You must have changed the install path during setup.

Oops, sorry if I wasnt clear enough. Where the program installed is
fine. What I am talking about are the SHORTCUTS the program makes in
the startmenu. Most programs create a directory for the applications
links to stay in in the start menu. PowerDVD puts its shortcuts in the
root of the startmenu. When I move them into their own created folder
after reboot they go right back to the root of the startmenu again. I
have never seen this in XP.

Try Cut and Pasting it into its own folder instead of moving. If it still
does not work, are you the Administrator on this computer? Could be just
repairing itself.
