Installed SP2 after install, asked to Restart Doesnt full load win

Hello
Having troubles with SP2 install
History : I am running a computer i bought from MDG computers its like dell
and i got windows xp from them. I have reformated my computer a couple times
since i have bought it. I have got the SP2 cd sent to my house so i can
install i from cd.

Problem
Installed patch from windows updates for problem about not starting.
Downloaded sp2 from automatic up date installed. Asks to reboot I say ok.
Then it starts up however it doesnt get on user log on screen, it just keeps
restarting saying error has occured and asks if i wanna start in safe mode
or normal mode.

Can neone help please?
