Installed SP3 for XP

After installing and rebooting my computer I don't get an error, but a screen
pops up asking me to start in safe mode. I've tried to start in normal mode
but it keeps coming back to the safe mode screen.

I've tried installing SP3 twice and both time I keep having the same
problem. It's times like this that I'm thankful for restore points.

Help....

I have the same issue... I can no longer install any updates except SP3...
which causes the machine to boot twice and land in a safe mode menu prompt...
to which I can only go to remove the sp3 update and then I can get my pc
back... but now many things do not work quite right...

Is there a fix... or are we all screwed?
