Those are definition updates - not system updates.
In other words - it is giving Windows Defender a new list of bad guys to
look for/compare against.
I don't think that will ever go into your Control Panel --> Add or Remove
Programs. It's very similar (exactly more like) to any antivirus software
(or other antispyware software) doing the same thing. You would control it
with the software itself and most likely be unable to do anything other than
perhaps disable/uninstall the software that is getting the updated lists.
