Installed Updates Missing from MS Update History

Since I have two PC's and a notebook, I update MS by downloading and
installing patches & hotfixes, rather than in automatic mode. This gives no
problems. However, the updates are not listed in the update history on the MS
Update webpage. I do not receive any notification to update and all updates
appear in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Updates\...

I consider this a minor problem, nevertheless I'm curious to know what
causes this omission from the history log. Thanks - Louis
