I recently had to rebuild an XP pro OS using the XP pro with SP2 CD as
provided by MS. MS tech support helped me with this. Since then the update
allows the PC to boot, login, the login song plays,but the desktop won't load
it sits and you have turn off the PC. I've even installed the updates one at
a time. I use the safe mode to restore the PC to its previous working state.
The updates all installed properly on my second PC with XP PRO SP2. Anyone
know the problem.
