Anyone know why I went from 58gb used on the old system to the new hard drive
1TB, 160gb on the New Installed System. I have not moved over my programs
and files so I am puzzled?

Thanks.

Hi,

System Restore, by default, reserves 15% of the drive space. On a 1TB drive,
that'd be 150GB. Add the OS, and you're easily at 160GB.

Amazing, thanks you did it again! Saved me alot of time.
You know I have another question.
Is there a way to see this file?
Just curious but can I remove it or is it worth its weight?
Thanks.....

Hi,

From an elevated command prompt (right cmd, choose 'run as admin.."), use
the vssadmin command to work with system restore defaults.

vssadmin list shadowstorage

will reveal the amount of space allocated to system restore.
