Hello,

I have a HP dv9074cl Entertainment notebook; with mail-in for vista upgrade.
I installed the HP Upgrade Utility for Windows Vista & Vista Home Premium
Express Upgrade. When upgrading, it deleted my partitiioned drive that had
the recovery files. Also:

1) At one point, the HP Quick Play was working, but only the DVD menu was
available. HP did not display the icons for webcam and other menus that were
available to me in XP. However, now, the HP Quick Play does not load/work at
all.

2). The HP Webcam will not load via icon, etc. However, HP WebCam demo
works and HP Web Cam does work in Muvee.

3) ADS Instant HDTV PCI - In Device Manger it notes: This device cannot
start (Code 10) when I click check for solutions," it notes: "could not load
driver software." when I download the driver via Device Manger, it notes:
Windows found driver software for hyour device but encountered an err while
attempting to install it.

4) Runtime Error: Program c:/programfiles/HP/hpcoretech/comp/hptskmgr.exe
- This applicaton has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

5) There is a problem caused by NVDIA graphics driver. (There is no problem
indicator in Device Manager). However, despite downloading the driver from
HP updates; the HP Update manager ever so often advise that I need to
download; and states download was successful. However, ever so often HP
Updates required that I download the update driver; and, MS Problem Reports
and Solutions states that "there is a problem caused by NvDIA graphics driver:

6) Windows Vista does not support Rhapsody Music Jukebox; Sun Java Scheduler;

I am very much a novice at this; and hope some one can offer suggestions.
On one board it was suggested that I go back to XP. I would prefer staying
with Vista, but if I must , revert to XP will my restore disks 'restore' the
partitioned drive and recovery files?
