installed xp sp2 = constant auto reboot

I installed xp sp2 on my other computer and now it is in a constant reboot,
the error msg that I retrieve is
c0000221{bad image checksum}
the image CRYPT32.dll is possibly corrupt. the header checksum does not
match the computed checksum.

Is there any way to fix this? w/o reinstallin XP??

The exact same happened to me. I ran recover with some
success. I think most of my files are saved. I also
tried restore, but that did nothing else for me.

Problem now is I cannot reinstall MS Office and the MS
website will not check my computer for downloads. A lot
is still out of whack. Other error messages related to
network and unable to find certain files.

Good luck. I am looking for any info/insights.

If you can boot into safe mode you can use restore to get
back to a useable configuration. I had same problem but
different error number.
