installed xp sp2 long ago with no problem, wu says rollback to sp1

installed xp sp2 long ago with no problem, but now the windows update says to
install xp sp1 and all the updates...there may have been some uninstalls that
took out a registry setting or ??? corrected one registry setting as advised
in an article and that opened the windows update but it shows only the xp sp1
install rather than updates to xp sp2 which is working and has no other
problems...
