Installer 3.1: KB893803 issue

I recently completed all my high priority updates successfully & soon after
noticed a registry problem (nothing caused by updates) so I simply used my
WinXP SP2 CD and run a fix. All was ok except I had to reinstall IE7 & I
think I lost my updates as well. When I go back to MS Update all I recieve is
a failed attempt at installing "Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1: KB893803" is
it still installed? If so I don't see it or any update other than a (.Net 1.1
Hotfix). Would greatly appreciate any advice on a solution.....
