I have been trying to get the installer to run right, when going through
windows or microsoft updater, the installer is taking for ever to initialize
the install and actually start installing. I have tried to find some logs to
tell me what is happening but can not find anything. Has anyone got an idea
on what is happening.

I have been running a faily upto date system for a long period and have not
had a problem, If someone can just tell me where to look to see what is
happening and on what part of the init the system is halting. Knowing this
will help me to move forward to find out what the problem is.

Thanks.

Is it just slow to start, or does it never start? At exactly what stage
does it get stuck? What is on the screen at that time?

The update starts and it finds the new updates... For me it was project 2003
sp2 as I had just installed. The download completes and the install starts
it displays a message initializing install and then waits for about 20 min
then I stoped it...

I have downloaded the update manually and the install works, but it didn't
get that far in MS Update.

I have now just rechecked and there are no more updates for me to check on I
will have to wait and see if it is fixed when the next one comes through.
