Can I install Microsoft Office 2003 on my new laptop that has Vista on it? I
seem to be having trouble because the cd I have says updates, but my computer
doesn't have any Office on it except the trial version. Does anyone have an
answer to this question?

Office 2003 works fine on Windows Vista just as long as you apply the
Service Pack 3 update for it.

Yes. I have Office 2003 installed on my Vista laptop with no problems.

Just keep in mind that Office SP3 blocks access to old file formats...

I found this link after I converted my old format files,,,

Yes.

Do you mean that it's an upgrade version? If so you need to have
something to upgrade.

An Upgrade CD requires that an earlier version of the product be installed on
the computer. Unless you have a full version of Office 97, Office 2000, or
Office XP installed on your new laptop you won't be able to use that CD.

If you haven't done so already, you might want to post this question to one of
the Office newsgroups.

Good luck

If you don't have at least one program from the Office group, you won't be
able to use an upgrade version

We also have trial version and tried to download the service pack 3 update,
but it would not load or execute because it could not find the installed
product on the computer as if the orig. software did not exist, so the
service pack would not execute. Any ideas?

Convert the trial version to a paid-for licensed version and then you'll be
able to install the Service Pack. Office 2003 works just fine on Vista.
