I have a registered and activated copy of Windows XP. The computer that I
originally installed the copy on has been "Retired", as in, trashed and out
in the garbage. Can I install the copy on another machine since the original
installation is no longer in use? Will I run into problems trying to
activate the installation since is has already been activated once?

Assuming what you have is a Retail copy of XP then there should be no
problem - although you may be asked for a phone activation when you try to
activate over the internet.

If your XP is an OEM copy - then it's a definite no-no.

Thank you Noel. Yes, it is a Retail copy, so I will give it a try and see
what happens. I appreciate your help/
