That sounds odd.
The DeskJet 882c is an old printer, and the Vista drivers that HP recommends
for it are the ones included with Vista.
The CH341 driver is a USB-to-serial one. It's not obvious what that would
have to do with your printer, whether you connect it using the USB or
parallel port.
If you're using the parallel port, I suggest that you try the USB port
instead. (You'll need an A/B USB cable.)
