Installing QBOOKS 2005

After installing when I go to update quickbooks, I keep getting Failed
Universal Agent OK then the message that some of my files are corrupt and
reinstall quickbooks, I have spent hours and hours on the phone with
quickbooks techies, and they say that this is an operating issue probably
with windows isntaller, I have repaired and reinstalled XP professional and
still no success. DOES anyone please have any ideas?
