installing seervice pack 2 -fails

i get the following message during the installing of the service pack to upate:

"Service Pack 2 setup Could not backup registry key HKCR\DxDiag.Dx
DiagProvider to file C:\windows\$NtService Packuninstall$\reg00177.5:access
denied"

causes my installation to abort and fail

can anyone help ?

I suggest you start out with the SubInAcl.exe tip there and see if
that solves your problem.
